Symbolism in Tangled

Here we have our first promised deep post! I am currently watching Tangled (literally, right this second Rapunzel is welcoming her "Mother" home and trying to ask to go see the lanterns) and I decided to do a little digging as to what some of the images or ideas might represent. Color Imagery As with any movie, there are dozens of colors present throughout Tangled , so I selected the four that I thought were the most important. Purple: Rapunzel's dress is primarily purple, as is the background for the flag of Corona. Purple most commonly symbolizes royalty, but can also represent passion, faith, or mourning. Obviously, Rapunzel is the lost princess, so the royalty idea makes perfect sense for both her dress and the crest of the kingdom. Disney Store Live Action Film Collection Alice Through the Looking Glass 12 Inch Doll

On a recent trip to the Disney Store, I found one lonely film collection Alice in clearance. I was overjoyed at my luck and she immediately went into my shopping basket. Once I got home, I decided to review her (after all, this blog is adventures in doll WONDERLAND.) While I have yet to see Through the Looking Glass , I absolutely love its predecessor Alice in Wonderland so I was very excited to find this Alice. Her box is very nicely designed with a clear plastic shell and a printed cardboard back, much like every Disney Store box. Mia Wasikowska's Alice is on the back of the box, and the left side of the box is printed with clocks. The front of the box has the typical "ages 3+" and Disney Store logo and the Alice Through the Looking Glass logo printed on it. Petite Review: Sleeping Beauty Disney Parks Fashion Pack (Blue Dress)

On the topic of dolls that I have restored this summer, I found a dressed JC Penney Aurora doll at Goodwill (complete with her tiara.) After giving her hair a nice, careful brushing, she came out like new! She even offered to help me review the fashion pack I got when I went to Disneyland, on the condition that she get to keep the dress. And that I stop calling her Aurora and call her Peony. While Aurora has never been my favorite princess, I do think her movie is absolutely beautiful from an artistic standpoint (if a little slow at times.) Indeed, I would argue that it is the most beautiful hand animated Disney movie. Additionally, I love her blue dress and I wish she were featured in it more. When I saw this fashion pack, I couldn't resist. Aurora's fashion pack arrives in a pink box that is patterned like the fabric they use in the Disney Parks for Aurora's pink dress.
