Character Options Limited Doctor Who Rory Williams Action Figure Review

Rory Williams is one of my favorite characters from any fictional world, so of course I had to get myself a little mini Rory.

The back of his box is printed with several photos of Arthur Darvill as Rory.

He also boasts of being highly poseable and includes a small bio.

Lots of info here.

Not sure why Rory isn't ages 3+, he seems pretty sturdy.

Rory's plastic packaging is very large considering how small he is.

Even with all the clunky packaging, the resemblance is striking.

A random rectangle.

The backdrop is outer space.

Rory is tied to the plastic with some paper string, which comes off fairly easily.

The logo on front is a separate piece of packaging.

Free!

Rory stands well on his own.

His resemblance to Arthur Darvill is impressive for something so tiny.

Rory has 7 points of articulation:

His shoulders...

His upper arms (why...?)

This looks nice with the pocket.

His elbows...

His wrists...

His hips...

His thighs... very realistic...

...and his knees.

Rory's paint job is simple but realistic.

He has an odd yellow mark on his cheek, the only paint flaw I can see.

His hair is sculpted in very good detail.

Rory has a sculpted white undershirt, a sculpted pale blue button down shirt, and a sculpted maroon vest.

The detail of the molded clothing is very impressive.

Seriously, look at this button!

Rory's pants have molded wrinkles and pockets.

His hands are well sculpted.

Rory has little brown shoes.

The bottoms have his BBC copyright information.

Rory's just under 5.5" tall.

I tried to photograph a few poses:

I am so impressed with this little figure!

Overall, I give Rory a 10 out of 10. He's very detailed and durable, particularly for his size, and I am very impressed with his realism and poseability. If you love Rory any bit as much as I do, look on Amazon and get this little guy! He's one of my favorite pieces in my Doctor Who collection (which, granted, is mostly books.)

  1. Amazing how much articulation the can get into such a small figure. I assumed that the text on the packaging meant that the figure was just highly detailed, not necessarily highly poseable. But the manufacturer delivered on their promise. Thanks for sharing.
