The Thirty Song Challenge

A long time ago, Anna Catherine opened up this challenge to anyone who wanted to participate. Of course I love music and singing and performing so I figured I should, and now here we are!

ALLONS-Y!

1. Your Favorite Song

Always. I have other songs that grab my attention now and again, but this song is and will always be my favorite.

2. Your Least Favorite Song

"Dear Future Husband" drives me insane. It's catchy, the color scheme for the video is fun... I just can't stand it.

3. A Song That Makes You Happy

I have so many fond memories from so many things connected to this song.

4. A Song That Makes You Sad

Ahh, the Little Women feels!

5. A Song That Reminds You of Someone

"And although I know that he is blind, still I say, there's a way for us..."

6. A Song That Reminds You of Somewhere

"Married Life" from Up. Every time we go to Disneyland, I hear this song at least once and it just makes me happy as a result.

7. A Song That Reminds You of a Certain Event

I sang this in a talent show in eighth grade with a friend of mine and we won audience choice!

8. A Song That You Know All The Words To

"Try Everything." I listen to hours and hours of this song. HOURS.

9. A Song That You Can Dance To

Long story.

10. A Song That Makes You Fall Asleep

While it doesn't put me to sleep anymore, this was what my mother sang to me as a lullaby when I was a baby, so I still get a warm, fuzzy feeling from it.

11. A Song From Your Favorite Band

I don't have a favorite band, but this video is one of my favorite videos of all time and they are a real boy band pretending to be a fake one, so that counts... right?

12. A Song From a Band You Hate

So. Done. With. One. Direction.

13. A Song That Is a Guilty Pleasure

I am not a Twilight fan. I don't intend to become a Twilight fan. EVER. But I like this song. It almost always makes me cry. IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY.

Plus it makes me think of the Doctor and Rose and Amy and Rory (especially Rory.)

14. A Song That No One Would Expect You to Love

For some reason, I LOVE Once On This Island and this is my favorite song from the musical.

15. A Song That Describes You

I wanna be where the people are... and I am determined to get there.

16. A Song That You Used To Love But Now You Hate

I AM SO SORRY.

17. A Song That You Hear Often On The Radio

I feel like this plays every time I turn on the radio.

18. A Song That You Wish You Heard On The Radio

For all I know, this is played on the radio a lot... but I've never heard it played, and I really like it.

19. A Song From Your Favorite Album

Not only one of my favorite songs, "Taylor, the Latte Boy" also happens to be on two of my favorite albums of Susan Egan's: Coffee House and Susan Egan: Live! With Christopher McGovern.

20. A Song That You Listen To When You're Angry

"Reflection" from Mulan. Helps me slow down and process why I'm mad, and usually get over it.

21. A Song That You Listen To When You're Happy

It's a very positive song, and I'm happiest when I'm busy doing 17 different things, just like Rapunzel.

22. A Song That You Listen To When You're Sad

I don't just listen to this when I'm sad, but I can remember a few times when this song helped me with sad things so here it is. It's Meg's deleted song from Hercules.

23. A Song That You Want To Play At Your Wedding

"I See The Light" from Tangled. The most beautiful and romantic song I can think of!

24. A Song That You Want To Play At Your Funeral

On bagpipes and everything.

25. A Song That Makes You Laugh

I love these videos, and this just makes me laugh every time!

26. A Song That You Can Play On An Instrument

"Yankee Doodle" is the only song I can remember from my piano days, and all I know from it is the first line!

27. A Song That You Wish You Could Play

While I am currently trying to teach myself how to play "On My Own," I already used that so "Lost Boy" goes here instead.

28. A Song In A Foreign Language That You Like

"The Prayer" is half Italian, so I think this counts.

29. A Song From Your Childhood

The Sound of Music was one of my favorite movies when I was little, and my very first school choir solo was Gretel's: "the sun has gone to bed and so must I..." when I was in fifth grade.

30. Your Favorite Song At This Time Last Year

"Let It Go." I still love this song, don't get me wrong, it's just not my go to for listening on repeat.

I hope you enjoyed this musical journey!

  1. #13 is what I say when people ask why I have that song. "I like the song, okay? But the fandom can go jump off a cliff!"

    1. Yeah, it's a good song... but vampire werewolf romance novels aren't really my cup of tea.

  4. You choose quite a few songs I love and cherish, just like you!

I leave you a song I suggested for my cousins wedding but in the end they choose something else:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0o_5hC9TDU

It' s in hungarian so you won't understand it so I made a quick translation for you. It's a fairly well-known poem in my country and as far as I know, the singer wrote the music to this poem himself.

    Two poplars

I wouldn’t exist either, if you wouldn’t exist
if you wouldn’t lean to me
You wouldn’t exist either, if I wouldn’t exist
if I wouldn’t lean to you

    I’m dividing, you’re dividing
you are the salt in my bread
you are the smile on my moustache
I am the tears in your eyes

her blood is binding her, my blood is binding me
you are my lover and my sister
My blood is binding me, your blood is binding you
I’m your lover and your brother

You are my breeze who caresses me
You are my storm who tears me apart
I’m your wind who caresses you
I’m your storm who tears you apart

If I wouldn’t exist, you wouldn’t exist either
I wouldn’t exist either if you wouldn’t exist
Here we are, two beautiful poplars
We are hiding in each other’s shadow

I'm no expert so it's just exactly what it means in my langueage. (Although I had soe trouble, we use the same word hor he and she and the word used for sister and brother can be used for both sisters and brothers)
Hope you like it a little :)
