Beastsbelle at Never Grow Up has tagged me to participate in The Multicrafteral Lab's "World Doll Day" tag. Thank you so much, beastsbelle!
The rules are fairly easy:
1. List 3 favorite dolls from the ones you got last year.
2. List 3 dolls currently on your wishlist.
3. Tag 5 people to do the same thing! (Anyone with a home on the web, not just bloggers, can be tagged!)
Last year was a wonderful year for doll collecting for me because of all of the crazy Disney Store releases that I was very careful to keep up with plus some fabulous thrift store shopping. I began selling things on eBay and because of that and babysitting funds, I was able to purchase many, many more items than I was expecting and my collections exploded. I highly doubt next year will be the same, but that's okay because I'm honestly to a point where I'm satisfied with the size of my collection and only have a few items that I absolutely want right now. That being said, I am only counting dolls that I received/ purchased in 2015 (not dolls that I got since June 15, 2014.) Just so you know. ;)
My favorite dolls from this year:
1. Limited Edition Anna
It was such a blessing that I managed to get my hands on this beautiful doll. She is truly the jewel of my Frozen collection.
2. Samantha Parkington
I was so surprised when I found this beautiful doll waiting for me at a local thrift shop. Samantha has always been an AG favorite of mine and I am thrilled to have her in my own collection!!!
3. TIE: Disney Signature Collection Rapunzel/ Birthday Party Anna
I was surprised by how much I loved Mattel's Frozen Fever Anna doll. You can read her review here. As for Rapunzel, I anxiously awaited her arrival online for months before finally finding a good deal for her on Amazon. You haven't seen her yet on my blog because I don't usually think to get pictures of my still-in-the-box dolls. I'll finish up this post with some close up shots of her. Also, some of you may have noticed that I rename my duplicate character dolls. Anna is Gwen (her sister is Bianca) and Rapunzel is Mandy.
Because I got so many dolls this year, my wishlist is fairly small. Of the dolls that I seriously want to add to my collection, the four that stand out the most usually cost more than $100. I absolutely do not expect to get all of them any time soon... one of them I know I'm getting for my birthday because I worked the whole thing out with my grandmother and I'm currently saving up for one of the others but the other two are not likely to join my collection any time soon. (Number Four is the Disney Store's Limited Edition Wedding Rapunzel.)
1. American Girl Kit Kittredge
I have actively wanted a Kit doll for approximately 5 years now, ever since my friend (who I will call Cinderella for the sake of anonymity) got one for either Christmas or her birthday... I don't remember which. I fell in love with Cinderella's Kit and have wished for my own ever since. I really loathe what BeForever has done to the entire historical line Kit's collection, though, so I am waiting to pursue an older Kit as soon as I have the funds.
2. Disney Store Limited Edition Kristoff
I may just be getting him for my birthday. Maybe. Just don't tell Anna... she doesn't know yet!
3. American Girl GOTY 2001 Lindsey Bergman
I read Lindsey's book for the first time a few months ago after several years of trying to find it. (Don't ask me why I didn't just put a hold on it at the library because I have no idea.) I was laughing for most of it. Lindsey is basically me when I was ten years old. We act exactly the same. We even look almost exactly alike! The only real differences are her blue eyes, the fact that she's Jewish (I'm a Christian,) and her older brother. As a result, I would really, really like to add a Lindsey to my doll family... though my current plan is to draw the AG line after her addition. 10 sounds like the perfect number of AG dolls to me!
Now to tag five people:
1. Anna Catherine
2. Emma Weasley
3. AnonymousA
4. Kathryn
5. Presto
I really enjoyed doing this little challenge! And, as promised, here are pictures of Mandy and her box (which, I warn you, is slightly dusty) to end this little post.
I believe she has articulated elbows and knees, though I'm not 100% sure.
Thank you guys for being awesome!

Adorable Mandy! |
These shoes are so strange. |

Okay WHAT is going on with those weird peasant bootie things on that poor Rapunzel doll? Those are the strangest Mattel doll shoes I think I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteI just love your LE Anna. She's so incredibly photogenic!
(Oop! Tagged?! Oh noes! XD)
I think they're supposed to look like her Parks shoes? http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://41.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbiap0SBRi1rua3qvo1_500.jpg&imgrefurl=http://disneytangledconfessions.tumblr.com/post/33530216362/rapunzels-face-character-is-usually-seen-wearing&h=288&w=500&tbnid=wvOkXGnDtpS4-M:&zoom=1&docid=xHHEkireORYSKM&ei=AqWAVZvULdHZoATemoKIDw&tbm=isch&ved=0CIMBEDMoXDBcahUKEwib3fSuo5XGAhXRLIgKHV6NAPE
DeleteThank you! She manages to look beautiful in every picture, ever, with basically no effort from me. In the words of Photo Finish, I just point and shoot and I capture "THE MAGICS."
Have fun with the tag! ;)
Hm, maybe..? They're a pretty terrible likeness, though. XD
DeleteI don't know why they felt the need to give her shoes at all. Shoes on Rapunzel dolls drive me crazy.
DeleteGreat answers, MyLittleMegara. :) I hope you find your Kit and Lindsey soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so thrilled that you're most likely getting a Kristoff to go with your Anna. He was my favorite of the newest Limited Edition Frozen releases. I had too many dolls on my wishlist in my tag as it was, but one of these days I'd love to get a LE Disney doll too, either from Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, or Frozen. ;)
I really love Mandy's face. Bravo, Mattel, for a job well done. Except for those shoes...they look more like bedroom slippers. ;)
Have a great week!
Thanks, beastsbelle! I plan to start looking for Kit ASAP but Lindsey will probably have to wait for a while. I like to space out my AG doll arrivals... they are such a big deal, I guess it feels like they should have the proper fanfare.
DeleteI am, too!! I spent waaaay too much time admiring the stock photos of Kristoff and Anna when they were first released. I love that Kristoff comes with his mandolin! I like the LE Wedding Rapunzel, but I'm not 100% sold on her lips. Which is good, considering she resells for $150-300.... yikes!!! I'm also perfectly content with just one (soon to be two.) I never really expected to get a LE doll at all, and this has been a bizarre and amazing experience. One might even call it a God thing. It's hard to explain... I'm hoping you'll know what I mean. :}
Mandy honestly has one of the best Punzel faces I've ever seen! I really hate her shoes, though... luckily her packaging mostly covers them.
You too!
Aww, what a list! :) Anna is beautiful! (I would be scared that something happens to her so I prefer to have a look at other peoples photos :) )
ReplyDeleteMandy Rapunzel has a really sweet face! Her elbows are are articulated for sure, but I don't know anything about the legs in this collection.
Thanks! When I'm not taking pictures of her, she sits on my mantel where she's safe and the whole family can enjoy her. Well, I don't know how much my dad enjoys her... ;)
DeleteShe's wonderful, isn't she?
Lindsey has always been my favorite GOTY. I hope to get my hands on her soon, too.
ReplyDeleteMandy is so cute! I love her box art. :)
Sparkie
Lindsey's hard to resist, isn't she? :)
DeleteI know!!!
That Rapunzel doll is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think she's probably the most screen accurate Punzie I have.
