Introducing... Samantha!

I have this horrible problem. It's called "thrift stores." You see, I had no intention of buying another American Girl for quite a while. And when I did, most likely over the summer, it would be Kit. And then there was this Samantha... and she was a Pleasant Company doll... and she was $50...

I couldn't resist. A few promises to wash some of the house windows made to my mother and some handy eBay profits later, Samantha was mine.

To put it simply, Samantha was a mess. She had eye shadow and glittery lip gloss all over her face. The bow on her Christmas dress was snagged and her arms and legs were very loose. I couldn't do anything about the bow or the floppiness, but the makeup and general grime came off with a sponge bath and her hair brushed out beautifully. All she needed was a more seasonally appropriate dress (after all, Christmas was a while ago!)

Yesterday I decided to take Samantha to the museum with my family, which she absolutely adored. Her favorite exhibits? The recreation of an Ancient Egyptian Tomb and the miniature houses.

Happy April, everybody!!

Samantha is wearing Nellie's Spring Party dress and the accessories that came with it. I added a plain white hair elastic so that more hair could be in the ponytail and the barrette could be a decoration.
