A Coronation Gown in 4 Days

This was by far the most insane sewing I have ever done. I made Anna's coronation gown, almost completely from scratch, in FOUR DAYS. Now, it isn't perfect, and there are several things you should know about it:
1. I used Simplicity Pattern 1215 for the bustier and straps (with a little altering and the addition of a modesty panel for when I have enough time to add a corset closure.) I ultimately plan to make a full, box-pleated skirt with the same pattern and higher quality fabrics.
2. The bustier used to be a pair of dress pants, the skirt is a pale green skirt with bits of a forest green table cloth sewn in for panels, and the straps are made from the liner of another skirt. I'm pretty proud of how thrifty this project was!
3. I got the lace and ribbon at Michaels.
4. I had to forgo the rosemaling, the third skirt color, and the gold edge at the top for the sake of time.
5. My sewing machine threw a fit halfway through and some of the stitching is a little messy as a result. Luckily, the only really messy stitches are either temporary or in places where they can't be seen.
6. I made the skirt in three days, two of which were mostly just cutting out all the panels. Aighmi* helped with cutting out the pieces. I made the straps on the second day of skirt work. Last night I cut out all the pieces for and sewed the bustier together. It. Was. Insane. Insane, but SO much fun!

Here is the final result:
The straps are only up here to hold the dress onto the
badly misshapen dress form.

I was astounded at how accurate this lace was.

I added a pocket to hold my fan.
Since I'm wearing this for my school's talent show (auditions are tonight!!!) I wanted it to be a recognizable version of Anna's dress that would be fairly simple to move in while I sing. :D

What do you think?

    1. Thank you! After my audition, I need it... I freaked out because, with three minutes to go, I was on the opposite end of the building and only half in my costume. But it still went pretty well, all things considered, and I'm definitely in the show.
